Back in October, Pixii was teasing a new camera with a Leica M-mount. Now the company clarified that a new model will not be announced any time soon, and their next cameras will probably be released in the summer of 2026:
While preparing the FAQ for our development project, it struck me how consistently we’ve had managed to release a new camera model every single year since 2020. As a great admirer of the Cupertino company, I had to wonder: had our clockwork cadence already made us the Apple of Photography? Almost… In fact, this year, exceptionally we will not release a new model. Pixii Max has been such a transformational camera for Pixii, perfecting our modern rangefinder design. We are delighted to offer our family cameras to photographers around the world, giving you the option to start with the format you want: full-frame or APS-C.
Now, inventing the future takes time. We want to do the right thing. Make sure we see the future with our own eyes, staying true to the Pixii DNA: no pixels obscuring your vision, no blind camera either. The market is already full of them, no need to add another one. How much time will it take? Probably around next Summer. Inventing is one thing and we are getting closer. But producing the future is another undertaking—one we need to prepare for at the scale we believe the new model will demand.
