The latest rumors suggest that the silver Noctilux-M 1:0.95/50 ASPH lens will be discontinued soon. The lens is currently in stock at only a few retailers, and it is out of stock at the official Leica website:

The Noctilux-M 1:0.95/50 ASPH silver version lens (No. 11667) was introduced in 2010. Here are the lens key features:

  • Fastest production aspherical lens in the world: f/0.95
  • 8 elements in 5 groups, two aspherical elements, floating element design
  • Extremely shallow depth of field and dreamy bokeh wide open
  • Close focus: 1 meter
  • Weight: ~700 g (heavier than the black paint version)

  • Finish: Silver anodized aluminum (not chrome-plated brass like older lenses)
