  • Optical design optimized for digital image sensors
  • Compact profile with an overall length of 44mm
  • All-metal lens barrel offering exceptional rigidity and durability
  • Manual focus for precise and reliable focusing control
  • Bayonet-type VM mount
  • High-precision rangefinder coupling mechanism
  • Full-frame image circle
  • Price: ¥90,000
  • Release date: May 2026

Apochromatic design

It employs an apochromatic design that brings the axial chromatic aberration of RGB, which constitutes the three primary colors of light, as close to zero as possible.

High performance & compact

The newly designed optical system uses anomalous partial dispersion glass in four of its six groups and seven elements. Despite its high performance, the lens has a total length of 44mm (from the mount surface), eliminating vignetting in the shooting frame when using a rangefinder.

Includes a dedicated metal dome-shaped hood.

The included metal screw-in lens hood is specially designed, resulting in a remarkably short protrusion of just 3mm when attached, eliminating interference with the shooting frame.

Manual focus allows for precise focusing.

The all-metal helicoid unit, machined and adjusted with high precision, and the use of high-quality grease that produces just the right amount of torque, enable smooth focusing operation and allow for precise focus adjustments.

Bayonet-type VM mount

The lens mount uses a VM mount compatible with the Leica M mount.

Equipped with a rangefinder coupling system.

The high-precision rangefinder coupling mechanism allows for precise focusing even at wide apertures.

Full-size image circle

It has a generous image circle that is compatible with 35mm full-frame cameras.

Press release:

Cosina Co., Ltd. is pleased to announce the release of the APO-SKOPAR 75mm F2.8 VM—a medium telephoto lens designed exclusively for full-frame VM mounts—under the Voigtländer brand.

The APO-SKOPAR 75mm F2.8 VM is a manual-focus medium telephoto lens optimized for full-frame M-mount sensors. Its newly designed optical system incorporates four elements made of anomalous partial dispersion glass within a 7-element, 6-group configuration. In addition to delivering high image quality through an apochromatic design that brings axial chromatic aberration as close to zero as possible, the lens achieves a level of compactness comparable to a standard lens—measuring just 44mm in length from the mount and featuring a 43mm filter diameter—thanks to a simple structure involving full-lens extension and a maximum aperture kept to a modest F2.8. Weighing in at a mere 191g, the lens offers exceptional portability while simultaneously eliminating viewfinder blockage (vignetting) within the shooting frame when used with an optical rangefinder.

This lens is designed primarily for use with rangefinder-coupled digital and film cameras. Equipped with a high-precision rangefinder coupling mechanism, it allows users to savor the true pleasure of focusing via a traditional optical rangefinder, complemented by the silky-smooth operational feel of its all-metal helicoid ring. The minimum focusing distance—coupled to the rangefinder—is 0.7m (though this may vary depending on the specific camera body used).

Furthermore, the lens can be mounted on Sony E-mount, Fujifilm X-mount, and Nikon Z-mount digital cameras via our dedicated mount adapters. It is available in two exterior finishes: Silver and Black. Included with the lens is a dedicated dome-shaped metal hood, designed with an extremely short protrusion of just 3mm to ensure it does not obstruct the shooting frame when attached.

Two new Voigtlander M-mount lenses to be announced at the 2026 CP+ show: Apo-Skopar 75mm f/2.8 & Apo-Lanthar 90mm f/4 (VM)
