- It has been 10 years since the Leica S System was introduced
- The new 64MP sensor is a completely new design, made specifically for the Leica S3 and and it will not be available to other companies
- No low pass filter in the S3 (only an IR filter glass over the sensor)
- Better dynamic range than the Leica S 007
- The images at ISO 6400 looks very clean, almost no noise whatsoever
- Overheating is one of the reasons Leica decided to stick with a DSLR design
- Leica is open to the idea of a mirrorless medium format camera
- The S3 will start shipping in spring of 2019
