The new Voigtlander Nokton 75mm f/1.5 Aspherical lens for Leica M-mount is now in stock at B&H (price: $999). The lens is available in black and silver (pictured above with the silver metal rear lens caps for M-mount lenses). The lens replaces the previous 75mm f/1.8 Heliar Classic version (see review). Here is a size comparison with the new 7artisans Photoelectric 75mm f/1.25 lens for Leica M-mount:

Voigtlander Nokton 75mm f/1.5 Aspherical lens quick hands-on review:

  • Voigtlander still uses the old lens hood tightening design where you use a screw to attach it to the lens. I am not a big fan of that solution but. The lens hood is reversible.
  • The lens has a clickable aperture ring. Smooth handling.
  • The lens is made in Japan
  • Only meter markings on the distance scale. Adding feet would be helpful for US customers.
  • Very narrow depth of field scale – focusing wide open could be a challenge.
  • Very compact design compared to the competition.
