I have been reporting rumors about a new Leica M camera with a built-in electronic viewfinder since 2019. It seems that we may be getting closer to the official announcement of such a camera. The Leica RM (not sure if this is the final name) is expected next year (2022) but we may get some hints about the development even earlier. One possibility is that we may get an official statement during the Leica M11 event in Wetzlar on 11/11/2021 that has already been scheduled.
