Leica Camera Japan announced a new limited edition Leica M Monochrome Silver Engrave model that will be available only in Japan. Only 30 units will be produced. The price is ¥972,000 (around $8,250). The Leica M Monochrome Silver Engrave model will have a Leica logo engraved on the top cover.

Leica Camera released firmware updates for all digital M rangefinders with added support for the new Summarit-M lenses that were announced at Photokina: Leica M8 firmware update v2.024 Leica M9, M9-P and M-E firmware update v1.202 Leica M Monochrom firmware update v1.008 Leica M and M-P firmware update v2.0.1.7 The firmware and upgrade instructions can be downloaded here.
In the next few months Leica is rumored to announce a new M Monochrom camera and probably a new M240 Lenny Kravitz edition in raw/coated brass (I already mentioned those rumors back in September). FYI – Lenny Kravitz is a Leica shooter:
