Kamerakraft LMGRIP grip version 3.0 for Leica M film cameras now open for pre-orders

The Kamerakraft LMGRIP grip version 3.0 for Leica M film cameras is now open again for pre-orders. Kamerakraft opens their orders in batches. The next batch (after this one) will open in October 2024. Here are the details on the new LMGRIP grip version 3.0:

  • Full Aluminium 6061 build, high-class (12.9) fasteners.
  • Compatible with each and every film Leica M body, except the M5. This includes the Leica M1, M2*, M3*, M4, M4-2, M4-P, M6, M6TTL, M7, MP, MA, MD, and MD2 (MD’s are compatible only with non-scientific baseplate).
  • Four SR44 / LR44 battery compartments so that you won’t have any excuses when your batteries suddenly die.
  • Tripod quick lock rail (ARCA standard) to stop messing with your clumsy and uncentered tripod screw.
  • One bottom wrist strap lug to prevent your fingers from being jammed in your previous goddamn strap.
  • Beautiful aesthetics that won’t ruin your beautiful Leica slim line!
  • A grippy profile that will let you hold your camera with only two fingers.
  • 3×2 options available: Black (anodized), Silver (anodized), or Glossy Black Paint that you can combine with a walnut or matte black aluminum handle.

Improvements over the previous version 2.0:

  • Overall finish, adjustments
  • Improved design of the wrist strap lug and locking screw
  • Lighter

Kamerakraft now also sells camera straps:

The new Leica D-Lux 8 camera lost some features that were present in the previous D-Lux 7 model

Macfilos noticed that the new Leica D-Lux 8 camera lost some features that were already present in the previous D-Lux 7 model:

  • Step-zoom: the option to set the zoom lever to jump to traditional focal lengths — 28, 35, 50, and 75mm
  • Zoom function on the lens: the focus ring on the lens can no longer be assigned to the zoom function
  • Operation-lock feature: the operation lock feature (which is common to all Panasonic Lumix cameras, including the LX100, on which the D-Lux is based) enables one-button locking of a custom set of features

Update: It seems that the panorama feature is also no longer available.
