Updated Leica M6 camera reissue details: Leica MP in a Leica M6 body

Here are some additional details on the upcoming Leica M6 film camera reissue

  • Leitz M6 Classic film camera reissue
  • Black color, not black paint as initially reported (there will be no silver option)
  • Leica MP camera in a Leica M6 housing
  • Lightmeter of the Leica MP (3 LEDs and not 2 like the M6 Classic)
  • “Leitz” red dot (a tribute to early Leica M6 cameras, see more listings here)
  • Price: €4,800-€5,000 (another source suggested €4,100 – €4,200)
  • Limited edition of probably 500 pieces (don’t think there will be a “regular” version)
  • Announcement on October 20

Leica is also rumored to announce a new Summilux 35mm f/1.4 V1 “Steel Rim” lens reissue together with the M6.

New Leica Summilux 35mm f/1.4 V1 “Steel Rim” lens reissue rumored to be announced next week with the M6 camera

I have been talking about a new Leica M 35mm “Heritage” lens for a while and I think a new Leica Summilux 35mm f/1.4 V1 Steel Rim lens will be finally announced next week together with the Leica M6 camera. This vintage lens reissue will be slightly different from the original body and will be available in silver and maybe later in black (similar to the Noctilux 50mm f/1.2 lens). The original Leica Summilux 35mm f/1.4 V1 Steel Rim is currently listed for $20k – $30k at f22cameras and eBay.
