Leica Camera USA announces second annual Leica Women Foto Project Award

Today, on Women’s Equality Day, Leica Camera USA announces the launch of its second annual Leica Women Foto Project Award as part of its continued commitment to diversity and inclusivity in photography. As part of the Leica Women Foto Project, three photographers will each be awarded $10,000 and a Leica Q2 camera to support the completion of a personal project expressed through the female perspective. Call for entries begins today, August 26 at 9:00AM ET and will close on October 8 at 11:59PM ET. Applications for the Leica Women Foto Project Award can be submitted through the online registration form found on https://bit.ly/LWFP_Award2020.

Last year’s Award honored photographers Debi Cornwall, Yana Paskova and Eva Woolridge as the inaugural winners. Selections from their respective photo projects are currently available for public viewing by appointment at Leica Gallery Boston.

Additional information on the rumored Leica Noctilux M 50mm f/1.2 Heritage limited edition lens

Some additional information on the previously rumored Leica Noctilux M 50mm f/1.2 Heritage limited edition lens (previously rumored here, here and here):

Limited edition – only 100 pieces will be produced
Will be available only in silver chrome
Price expected to be around €8,500 (approx $10,000)
Shipping will start in early 2021

The original Leica Noctilux M 50mm f/1.2 lens (pictured above) is selling for crazy amounts on eBay. Three years ago, a similar lens was sold at B&H for $20k:

New Leica rumors: two new vintage/historical/heritage lenses and a new M10-P black painted special edition camera

Since 2017 I have been reporting that Leica is planning to release several new vintage/historical/heritage lenses similar to the Leica Summaron-M 28mm f/5.6 ($2,595) and Leica THAMBAR-M 90mm f/2.2 ($6,495) lenses. There are new rumors about two new Leica M vintage/historical lenses:

Leica M 35mm f/2.8 lens
Leica M 50mm f/1.2 lens

In addition, a new Leica M10-P black painted special edition camera is also rumored (a new/upcoming 24MP M camera “surprise’ was already mentioned a few weeks ago).
