By LR admin | Published: March 4, 2020

In addition to the Leica TL2 price drop in Germany, I reported last week, the price of the Leica CL camera has also been slashed in The Netherlands (Cameraland, Fotokonijnenberg, Kamera Express). In the US, only the Leica CL with the 18mm lens combo has been reduced by $995 (22% off):

In addition, several CL configurations have been listed as discontinued:

Thoughts on what Leica needs to do to improve the M rangefinder camera

Thoughts on what Leica needs to do to improve the M rangefinder camera

By John Ricard, a NYC based portrait photographer (website, Instagram)

I filmed a video detailing the changes Leica should make in order for the M10 to be a better event camera. My video was inspired by one posted by Nathan Wright here on the Leica Rumors forum a few days ago.

Number 1 on my list would be for Leica users to be able to adjust the rangefinder more quickly than is currently possible. In January, 2020 I sent my M10 in to Leica Service in Allendale, NJ for rangefinder calibration. It took a full month for the camera to be returned to me. This is unacceptable for any who uses the camera professionally. I suggest Leica equip their Stores to do the calibration in a day or two, or release information on how a Leica user can adjust his/her own rangefinder.

The world-first Shackleton x Leica collaboration created this new Frank Hurley photographer’s jacket

By LR admin | Published: March 2, 2020

The world-first Shackleton x Leica collaboration created this new Frank Hurley photographer’s jacket (Frank Hurley is one of the greatest photojournalists of the 20th century):

“The world’s first jacket engineered for extreme-weather photographers. Ergonomic construction allows complete freedom of movement when shooting. Bespoke pockets for batteries utilise core body heat to prolong life. Ten internal pockets designed in collaboration with renowned polar photographer Martin Hartley. High-frequency seam sealing to be 100% waterproof. Developed with European goose down and a graphene lining to function to -25°C. The FH-4 is inspired by pioneer Frank Hurley, Ernest Shackleton’s official photographer during the Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition.”
