Thypoch released new Simera 28mm f/1.4 and Simera 35mm f/1.4 lenses for Leica M-mount featuring a new Focus Tab Type II Version. These versions have the same optical design as the infinity lock version. The only differences are the focusing mechanism and pricing.
If you are planning on purchasing new Leica gear, now would be a good time to do so – read the details at the bottom of this post and check availability and pricing at our sponsors:
“Leica Camera has announced that, effective May 1, 2025, pricing on a wide range of products will increase as a result of recently implemented tariffs. The adjustment is expected to affect much of the Leica lineup, including cameras and lenses, though exact figures have not yet been released.
Items currently in stock will remain available at current pricing through the end of April. However, products that arrive on or after May 1—including those currently on backorder or special order—will reflect the new, higher prices. With the price increase approaching, now may be the time for those considering a Leica purchase to take advantage of current pricing while inventory remains.
The pricing shift is a direct response to tariff-related cost increases. While there remains some uncertainty about how long these adjustments will remain in place, no rollback has been confirmed at this time.”
A new Leica M11-P Safari edition camera is rumored to be announced soon. I do not have any details on the exact date, price, or lens combo, so stay tuned for updates.
