This just in from BandPro – significant price reduction on Leica Summicron-C cinema lenses:

From 22-28 January 2016, British explorer, writer and photographer, Levison Wood, will be exhibiting GROUND TRUTH, a brand new selection of photography from his highly acclaimed ‘Walking the Nile’ and ‘Walking the Himalayas’ expeditions, as featured on Channel 4. All images were captured on the Leica M (Typ 240).

In addition to the three new M lenses, there will be another Leica announcement next week for the X-U Typ 113 waterproof and shockproof camera. Stay tuned for additional details.

Update: the lens hood of the 28mm f/2 is wrongly described as “snap-on” in the above table I got from Leica Camera. This is a mistake, the lens hood is “screw-on”.

The British Academy of Film and Television Arts has announced today that its inaugural 2016 Photography Commission has been awarded to Greg Williams, long-time BAFTA collaborator and ambassador of prestige camera manufacturer Leica. Capturing Film Awards Fellows, winners and nominees, the Commission will comprise a series of relaxed, ‘off-duty’ portraits, with initial subjects including Thandie Newton and Sir Alan Parker.
