Speak of the devil. Amazing news, thanks Peter big time.

Man….looks to be an awesome portrait lens..

Leica seems to be working very closely with Adobe if LR has a profile for a lens that is not announced yet. I also love the fact that they use the open DNG format for their RAW output. Hopefully companies like Nikon wake up someday and do the same instead of putting valuable resourses into crap software like NX-D and what not.

You get an Adobe Lightroom serial number when you purchase an S camera. They do that since Phase One and Mamiya give you a free copy of C1. To compete

      • NoMeJodas

True. And they bundle it with the M and T too. This is actually how I upgraded to LR 5. It’s not the cheapest way to upgrade LR, I know 🙂 but the point is, one can integrate a new Leica into the existing work flow instantly. And not only with LR thanks to the DNG format. No need to wait for weeks for the camera to get supported in one’s favourite tool or learn and use the immature software some other manufacturers bundle with their products. This makes buying a Leica a very pleasant experience from day one!

Just realized it’s their first Summicron, being the fastest in their lineup.

  • Do you know if there will be a CS version of this lens? Also, any new information about the new S update? I think you mentioned improved autofocus. Do you think it will be multi-point autofocus, or just center point as it is now? Thank you.

    • Sorry, I do not have any other details.

    • Neopulse

Most likely, since even the standard 70mm has a CS version.

There will be no CS version. It is mentioned in the newest issue 6/2014 of LFI.

      • That’s disappointing. Thanks for the information.

    Not APO? Next please.
