I already reported that the new Leica M Typ 262 camera is currently shipping (pre-order options). This is the new “short” menu introduced in the Typ 262 (taken from the manual):

M 262 main differences compared to M 240:

  • no video
  • no LiveView
  • 100g lighter (top plate made of durable aluminum)
  • smaller Leica red dot logo
  • quieter shutter compared to the M 240
  • the camera’s menu consists only of two pages
  • no option for red frame lines
  • no “advanced metering mode” or spot in the 262, only classic center weighted
  • body design closer to the M9
  • cheaper($5,195 vs. $6,380)
