New server and HTTPS for LeicaRumors

In the past week I have been busy upgrading LeicaRumors to a new server at HostDuplex. The old server could no longer handle the increased traffic. You also probably already noticed that LeicaRumors is now a “secure” website (HTTPS) which is the industry’s standard today. A lot of other changes were also introduced on the back end that should improve the overall user’s experience on the site. If you see any strange behavior, please add a comment to this post.

PentaxRumors and PhotoRumors are also now “secure” websites and NikonRumors will be transitioned over by the end of the week.

Great move, Peter. Things are looking good!

    • Thanks, should have done this long time ago 🙂

No clue what your bill is like, but something to consider is using a static site generator like Hugo (https://gohugo.io/) and Netlify (https://www.netlify.com/) which is virtually free and distributes the content globally so it’s nice and quick for everyone, and free SSL.

    • I already use WordPress and do not want to even think about migrating to another platform (I think this is what those two are).
