Leica Instant M design concept camera

A reader contacted me with his personal Leica Instant M camera design concept project. He even created a prototype based on an existing Instax camera (click for larger view):

Additional information:

I’d love to share my latest project with the Leica community (I’m an industrial designer and a photography enthusiast). I’ve modified an Instax SQ10 to mount a Leica Summicron-M 35mm (I think it’s the first instant camera with a full-frame lens). Then, I’ve designed a concept of what a premium Leica instant camera could look like.

Take a look here: https://danielhuang.com/Leica-Instant-M – it’s in three parts:

  1. an op-ed piece about the need for high-end instant cameras,
  2. a process snapshot of the working prototype,
  3. a concept vision for a Leica camera
