Additional information on the upcoming Omnar 26mm f/6 rangefinder lens for Leica M-mount (CN26-6)

Here is some additional information on the first Omnar rangefinder lens for Leica M-mount (previously reported here):

  • The first lens will be the Omnar 26mm f/6 (CN26-6) with a fixed aperture (pictured above is the prototype)
  • Rangefinder coupled from 0.67m to infinity and optionally can have uncoupled focusing down to ~0.3m
  • It will come in Matte Black Chrome Cerakote, Silver Chrome Cerakote, and High Gloss Black Lacquer – all hand-painted
  • Other colors will be available as an upgrade option
  • The ‘OMNAR LENSES’ engraving on the front will also be optional, allowing custom engravings
  • The lens optics are from the Canon AF-10 point and shoot camera  – it’s a simple optical design with a combination of glass and plastic elements (the glass is coated, and it’s surprisingly sharp)
  • Price TBD
  • Pre-orders will start in a few weeks
  • Only 20-30 lenses will be produced
