I received several reports that the rumored Leica M11 camera launch date could be pushed back becuase of the current global parts shortage and shipping crisis. The new release date is now rumored to be at the beginning of 2022. Stay tuned for more updates or contact me if you have any insider information.
Here are the rumored Leica M11 specifications:
- The Leica M11 will not have a baseplate (setup like the Leica Q2)
- The official announcement was originally expected on 11/11/2021 (the M9 was announced on 09/09/2009)
- A rumor suggested that the Leica M11 sensor will have a variable resolution in RAW (50MP/36MP/15MP), another rumor suggested a new 36MP sensor
- The Leica M11 will support USB-C
- No IBIS
- New Leica BP-SCL7 battery
- New Leica BC-SCL7 charger
- Wi-Fi (5GHz/2.4GHz), Bluetooth
- A new Visoflex will be announced and it will be compatible with the current Leica M10 models
- The Leica M11 camera is most likely be the already registered Leica model 2416
- I was told that the Leica M10, M10P, and Leica M10D cameras are already discontinued – see current listings at Adorama and B&H for availability
- A new Leica M camera with a built-in EVF is still a possibility
- The M11 has been registered as a trademark by Leica since 2012 (pictured above)
