In addition to the new Q2 “Reporter” cameras, the Ralph Gibson’s Leica Hall of Fame Award, and the 2021 LOBA winners announcement during the recent events in Wetzlar, Leica also had a presentation on their Leica watches. Not much coverage is available online about this presentation, which means there was no new/important information. Even HODINKEE, who was present at the event, had nothing new to report – you can listen to their podcats from Wetzlar that includes an interview with Dr. Andreas Kaufmann (he confirmed that a new Leitz LUX smartphone will be announced in December but did not mention anything about the release date of the Leica watches).
One interesting bit of information is that the Leica watch box (pictured above) is made of aluminum and glass and doubles as a display case for a Leica M lens.
