The latest Leica rumors: Q3, Q-E, SL3, M11 Mono, new APO 90mm, budget line of SL lenses

Here are the latest Leica rumors:

  • The long-rumored Leica M camera with an electronic viewfinder is still a possibility. Don’t expect it to be released until the next generation of M cameras (M12?).
  • The next APO lens will be a redesigned version of the current Leica APO-Summicron-M 90mm f/2 ASPH, expect it to be released before summer.
  • A new Leica M11 Monochrom camera will also be announced this year (in the next few months).
  • The rumored Leica SL3 and Leica Q3 cameras will be released later this year with different megapixel resolutions.
  • With the new Q3, Leica will reintroduce the “-E” branding for entry-level cameras. The new Leica Q-E will basically be the current Q2, etc (just like with the M9 and M-E).
  • Along with the next-generation SL cameras, Leica will introduce a budget line of zoom and prime lenses (previously reported here).
