There is a new Leica Q2/Q2 Monochrom firmware update version 5.0 with new eye AF tracking and other improvements currently listed on the Leica China website (still not available in other countries).
Here is what I could translate from the PDF file:
Improved:
- Improved flash photography with Profoto devices
- When using the zoom/lock buttons (AF-L, AF-L + AE-L, AE-L) to store measurements, focus and exposure settings remain locked until zoom/lock is pressed again button photo/video
New:
- Adjusted firmware version numbers for Q2 and Q2 Monochrom
- Autofocus ranging method Eye/Face allows selection of which eye is primarily focused
Expand:
- Possibility to switch between photo and video modes via direct access
- Autofocus operating mode (AFs/AFc) can be permanently set separately for photo and video modes error correction
- Fixed various bugs in the firmware
I assume the update will be released worldwide next week.
