Leica M9 + Contax G 45mm f/2 lens (converted by Funleader) sample photos

Several readers asked me to post a few sample photos of the new Contax G 45mm f/2 lens for Leica M-mount (converted by Funleader) taken with a Leia M9 camera (ok, Leica M-E actually) – JPG files are straight out of the camera, lens detection was off:

I just released that the sensor of my Leica M-E camera has several spots – not sure if this is just dirt or a corroded sensor. Sorry about that and wish me luck…

Leica M11 camera announcement tomorrow

Leica M11 camera leak from China (found in the Leica M11 Facebook Group)

The new Leica M11 camera will be officially announced tomorrow January 13, at 3 pm CET. I got some last minutes leaks:

Leica M11 black (EU20200): magnesium+aluminum= 455 g (without battery)
Leica M11 silver (EU20201): brass+magnesium= 565 g (without battery)
Battery: 75 g, 700 shot CIPA /1700 Leica style
Dimensions: 147 x 80 x 38.5 mm
DNG files: 60.3MP, 9528 x 6328
DNG sizes: large~ 70-120mb; medium: 40-70; small: 20-40
JPEG sizes: large: 15-30mb; medium: 9-18; small: 5-9.

The TTArtisan 23mm f/1.4 APS-C lens is now available also for Leica L-mount

Updated Leica M11 camera pricing

So after all, I was probably right predicting that the upcoming Leica M11 camera will be priced close to $10,000 in the US.

The first M11 price rumors of €7,000 (VAT excluded) were probably a bit low I think.

The second set of Leica M11 price rumors suggested €8.350 (not sure if VAT was included).

We now have another leaked screenshot from Park Cameras in the UK that lists the Leica M11 with a price tag of £7,500 (over $10,000)

The new Leica M11 will not have IBIS, but the LCD screen and EVF will have a separate built-in image stabilization

We already know that the Leica M11 camera will not have any IBIS (in-body image stabilization), but I was told that the Leica M11 LCD screen and EVF will have a separate built-in image stabilization system that will be used for easy focusing when focus peaking (it will stabilize only the LCD and EVF but not the sensor). This could also explain why the Leica M11 LCD screen is slightly smaller (2.95” vs 3″) and will require a new LCD screen cover:
