New Leica Summilux M lenses have been rumored for a while. I recently received a tip indicating that new 35mm and 50mm Summilux M lenses are going to be announced later this year.
I have been reporting for a while that Leica will slowly start upgrading their M lenses to be a better fit for future high megapixel cameras. A new Leica Q3 camera is expected to be announced next year (2023) and it is rumored to have a 60MP sensor. Of course, given the current geopolitical situation and the ongoing shortages, the Q3 could be postponed. So far there are no indications that Leica is considering a different focal length for the Q3. Stay tuned for more updates.
