Is the Zenit M digital rangefinder camera only a limited edition run?

The Russian website Ria News reports that the new Zenit M camera could be/is a limited edition with only 500 pieces produced:

“However, this is not a limited edition with new features, but cameras in limited design, exclusive packaging with an individual number.” Circulation of this camera is extremely limited. “Only 500 pieces of Zenitar 1.0 / 35 cameras and lenses available for purchase in Russia and Europe” the source said.

Zenit and Leica present joint production camera (Zenit M with Zenitar 35mm f/1.0 lens)

Leica S3 additional information (full technical specifications)

Today Leica announced their new S3 medium format camera, but they provided only some basic specs:

  • Leica ProFormat sensor, with 64-megapixel resolution
  • High sensor sensitivity up to ISO 50000
  • Medium Format Cine 4K Video
  • Available Spring 2019
