Leica 23mm f/2 ASPH lens patent

Last year Leica filed a patent in Japan for a 23mm f/2 ASPH lens designed for mirrorless APS-C cameras. This could be a variation of the lens on the Leica X (23mm f/1.7) or the existing Summicron-T 23mm f/2 ASPH lens for TL mount. Here are the details:

New MGR adjustable viewfinder magnifiers for Leica M cameras

MGR Production introduced new adjustable viewfinder magnifier. These are the modified version of the original adjustable viewfinder magnifier (they have different range of magnification and design from the original version). The type Y has a magnification range from 1.15x to 1.65x or equal to -150 to +350 diopter, whereas the Type J magnifier has a magnification range from 1x to 1.5x or equal to -250 to +250 diopter.

New ONA Bowery bag for Leica

The new ONA Bowery bag for Leica features full-grain Italian leather, solid brass hardware as well as a custom interior and exterior accents in Leica’s signature red. Featuring five exterior pockets for personal items and an interior padded with closed-cell foam, the Bowery for Leica can carry a camera and one or two extra lenses. Thanks to a detachable strap, the Bowery for Leica can be used as a stand-alone camera bag or as an insert to protect camera gear in a larger bag. Through the end of 2015, the Bowery Bag for Leica will be sold exclusively at onabags.com and through U.S. Leica stores. The bag will be available at retail partners worldwide starting in 2016. The suggested retail price is $279.

New Leica Outlet Store now open in Wetzlar

A new Leica Outlet Store opened in Leitz Park, Wetzlar and will be selling demo and second-hand Leica equipment. The inventory will be constantly updated and will only be available to store visitors (no online or phone inquiries). Some reports indicate that certain M and S lenses were offered for sale at almost half price.
