Additional information on the rumored new Leica Noctilux lenses

Leica Noctilux M 50mm f-1.4 lens
Some additional information/rumors on the new Leica Noctilux lenses I initially reported last week:

  • Leica Noctilux M 50mm f/0.95 lens update: improved image quality over the current Noctilux, Apochromatic lens, new coatings, updated lens design
  • The 35mm f/0.95 lens design is lighter than the 50mm Noctilux
  • The 35mm f/0.70 lens design will be for industrial, military and scientific applications only

Some of the above lens designs will use carbon composites to reduce weight. Forged carbon and carbon fiber are also being looked into. There is still a very good chance that one of the new Noctilux lenses will be designed for the Leica T system.
