Additional Leica CL mirrorless camera information

Here is an updated list of rumored Leica CL mirrorless camera specifications (based on my previous post from August):

Code name “Clooney” (model 7323), the actual model name will most likely be Leica CL
Made in Germany
Same 24MP ASP-C sensor from the TL2
L-mount
Interchangeable lens camera with TL-mount
Built-in EVF
Official announcement will be on November 22nd

Here is some additional information from the Leica Forum:

Name will probably be “CL”
1/8000 mechanical shutter
Same EVF as the Typ 020, but without GPS
Leaked photos are the actual camera
Appears to be a tandem product rather than an upgrade
Price slightly more than that of current TL2 + external EVF
No mention of IBIS or PDAF

The price of the new Leica CL camera is expected to be around $2,500 ($1,950 for the camera + $575 for the EVF).

This is the rumored new silver version of the Leica Summilux-M 28mm f/1.4 ASPH lens

Last month I reported a rumor about Leica announcing a new silver version of the Summilux-M 28mm f/1.4 ASPH lens. A reader just sent me the above picture of the upcoming lens. The photo I used in my previous post is the 28mm Lux lens from the Leica M limited edition “Leica 100” set (currently $7000 off) which has more of a titanium finish. The new silver version of the Leica Summilux-M 28mm f/1.4 ASPH lens will look like the current silver M lenses. The price is expected to be a few hundred dollars higher than the $6,295 price tag of the black version.

Leica is going to have a big press event on November 22nd, but I am still not sure if this lens will be announced then.

Voigtlander NOKTON 40mm f/1.2 Aspherical VM lens for Leica M-mount to start shipping on November 22nd

The new Voigtlander NOKTON 40mm f/1.2 Aspherical VM lens for Leica M-mount and the 40mm viewfinder are expected to start shipping on November 22nd according to a report from DC.Watch. The US pricing is not yet officially announced, but the Sony E-mount version of the same lens is currently priced at $1,059.

New: Leica Q “Leica Store SF” limited edition camera

A new Leica Q “Leica Store SF” limited edition camera will be announced tomorrow. I reported about this model and posted the first picture last month – see this post. The camera will be sold only at Leica Store San Francisco. The price $4,750. Only 50 units will be produced. Shipping will start in mid-December.
