The Leica M9 Neiman Marcus Edition
Limited Edition Camera Only Available Through the Neiman Marcus Christmas Book
Allendale, NJ (October 5, 2010) – Leica Camera AG is pleased to be included in the 84th edition of the Neiman Marcus Christmas Book as one of the coveted Neiman Marcus “Fantasy Gifts.” The Leica M9 Neiman Marcus Edition is available in a limited edition of only 50 pieces exclusively through the Neiman Marcus Christmas Book.
With exquisite craftsmanship and premium digital technology, this gift is simply one of the finest cameras in the world. Limited to a worldwide edition of just 50, the Leica M9 Neiman Marcus Edition is the only camera that combines the classic Leica M shooting experience with the latest digital technology and luxurious design. The rugged Leica M body and matching Summicron-M 35mm f2.0 ASPH lens are flawlessly finished in silver chrome, and the body is covered in luxurious brown ostrich leather trim with a matching ostrich leather strap. It is the world’s smallest digital rangefinder camera with a full-frame 18 mega-pixel sensor and interchangeable lenses to capture ultra-high resolution images. The high-resolution 2.5-inch LCD screen is protected by sapphire cover glass.
We have seen many “different” Leica cameras in the past – there was the wooden Leica, the iPhone Leica, the Leica pinhole camera, the “Like a Leica” and now there is also the Lego Leica. The camera is functional because it is based on the Lego Pink Digital Camera set, it can take 3 MP pictures and save up to 80 photos on its internal memory.

Over 300 Leica products are on display at the Beijing’s World Art Museum as a part of the “Leica Insight” exhibition. A big portion of the items belong to Mr. Ye Youxin who has one of the biggest Leica collections in the world. The exhibition will continue till October 7th, 2010. Here is the related video (in English – the video starts automatically and I had to remove it from the front page – click “read more” to continue):
Leica will start a V-Lux 20 mail-in promotion that will offer customers a limited edition brown Leica leather case valued at $125 and a Leica leather SD card holder valued at $35 free of charge. The promotion will expire on December 31, 2010.
Now, maybe I did miss this product announcement, but there appears to be a new Leica X1 digiscoping adapter (model 42331) shown at Leicainnederland:
The pictures of the adapter appears to be taken at Photokina or some other photography show, but I do not remember seeing any online coverage of this product. Leica did indicate in the past that they will develop a series of accessories for the X1.
Update: here is another picture of the adapter being displayed at Photokina from twitpic:
A quick Google search shows that several websites are already selling it for £100.00.
