The previously rumored Leica M 240 firmware update is already listed on Leica’s website (currently the link points to the 2.0.0.12 version):
The change log is also not yet available – my guess is that everything will be officially released on Monday. Stay tuned for details.
One of our sponsors, Reddotcameras, informed me that Leica has released a new limited run of the M240 rangefinder in chrome and black with the 100 years logo engraved on the top plate. The UK price is £5,100.00 (incl. VAT, around $8,600). I am still not sure if this version will be available in the US. Only 250 of each versio will be produced (total of 500 cameras). The current Leica M-E model
Leica is rumored to refresh the current M-E model ($5,450.00) in the next few months (most likely at Photokina in September). The new camera will be called M-S or M-E2 and will have the same 18MP CCD sensor with updated LCD screen and new battery (probably from the M 240).
