Earlier this week, I received a tip about a new 6% price increase for Leica products coming to the US in March. Today, the Supreme Court struck down some of the tariffs enacted by Trump last year, so I am not sure how this will play out. I seriously doubt that Leica prices will go down. Stay tuned for updates.

This weekend, on Saturday, Red Dot Forum Camera Talk will take an in-depth look at the newly released Leica Noctilux-M 35mm f/1.2 ASPH lens:

Only slightly larger than the 35mm Summilux, the new 35 Nocti delivers optical performance approaching the 35mm APO-Summicron, and features the fastest aperture ever offered on a 35mm M lens. In that episode, Red Dot Forum Camera Talk will give a brief history of Noctilux lenses, discuss the technological innovations behind this high-speed reference-class optic, and explain where it fits within the current Leica M lineup. Naturally, Josh and David will explore how the new lens stacks up against the latest 35mm Summilux-M FLE and 35mm APO-Summicron-M, with their usual battery of detailed testing. You can send your questions to this email address [email protected].

The Chinese lens manufacturer Mandler has opened its online store, and you can now purchase the new Mandler 35mm f/2 lens for the Leica M-mount – a complete reproduction of the optical formula of the original Leica Summicron 35mm f/2 seven-element lens. The name “Mandler” is a tribute to Walter Mandler, who designed many legendary Leica lenses.
Update: Currently, only the Mandler 35mm f/2 “7 elements” aluminum is in stock (silver version in M and LTM mounts; black version only in LTM mount).
Mandler also sells accessories for the new lens:

Mandler is expected to launch another new lens in July. In the future, they are planning to release 3-4 new lenses per year.
