Viltrox is trying to connect and negotiate with Leica for the L-mount licensing, according to this post on YouTube:
This means that Viltrox could join the L-Mount Alliance. There are already several Chinese companies that make L-mount lenses without officially being part of the L-Mount Alliance:
Leica is rumored to announce a new M11 black paint limited edition camera with “Dubai” or “UAE” engraved on the top side (maybe M11-P this time, but I don’t think so). The official announcement should happen very soon.
Update – here are the latest details:
The new camera will be a limited edition M11, black paint, with contrast silver ISO and shutter speed dials and words “Dubai UAE” on top instead of “Wetzlar Germany”. Number of the item (001/100) engraved on the hotshoe. That would be a part of a series of similar releases – probably next would be the US and China. The official announcement is expected tomorrow, January 22nd. The price will be around $10,000.
This edition will be limited to 100 pieces – celebrating the 100th Leica anniversary:
