Confusion: Leica M11-V camera shows up at the FCC right before the Leica M EV1 is released in the US


You may remember that in my initial rumors/reports from March 2025 about the upcoming Leica M camera with EVF, I reported the model name as Leica M11-V. The camera was later announced as Leica M EV1. We now know that my initial reports were 100% correct, as shown in this image of a Leica M EV1 prototype, labeled as Leica M11-V.

Here is a new speculation: the delay in the release of the Leica M EV1 camera in the US was not caused by the government shutdown, but by Leica’s last-minute decision to change the name from Leica M11-V to Leica M EV1. The FCC filing (direct link) confirms this rumor – the camera is registered in the US as Leica M11-V:
