Leica Camera AG reports 8.5% sales increase for Q3 of 2011/12

Leica Camera reported 8.5% sales increase for the 3rd quarter of fiscal year 2011/2012 compared to same period from previous year. Earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) is up 10.0%. The company added 79 new employees in 2011.

WSJ: the Blackstone-Leica deal valued at €130 million ($179 million)

Leica sells 44% to Blackstone

    Not really a big surprise since Leica has been looking for a sell since they turned around their finances. Why sell only 44%?
