Leica Talent Italia (video)

In 2011, Leica has rocked the Italian world of photography with the Leica Talent contest. 42,567 participants have sent more than 120,000 pictures, and the website of the contest has had 3.5 millions unique visitors and 37 millions of page views in 60 days. Leica D-Lux 6, V-Lux 4 to start shipping next week in the US

The new Leica D-Lux 6 ($799) and V-Lux 4 ($899) compact cameras are expected to start shipping in the US next week (around Tuesday). Dale Photo and Digital is currently accepting pre-orders for both models. Some sample images taken with the D-Lux 6 can be found here.

Leica M9 in Ruthenium customized by HRR Manufaktur

This customized Leica M9 in Ruthenium was created by HRR Manufaktur in Germany. My understanding is that they will be making a limited number of these M9’s. Price and availability is not public yet. The attached lens is the Noktor 50mm f/0.95 Hyperprime (there is currently one listed on eBay). Used Leica M9 cameras sell for around $4,000 on eBay

Used Leica M9 digital rangefinders currently sell for slightly above $4,000 on eBay (completed listings) – this is around $1,500 less than a brand new Leica M-E (priced at $5,450).
