Leica Oskar Barnack Award 2013: finalists’ portfolios


This video shows the winners and finalists' portfolios for the Leica Oskar Barnack Award 2013. Thousands of entries were received from all over the world. The video and awards were presented on July 3 during Rencontres Internationales de la Photographie photography festival held in Arles, France. Evgenia Arbugaeva won the Leica Oskar Barnack Award for her portfolio,“Tiksi” and Ciril Jazbec won the Leica Oskar Barnack Newcomer Award for his portfolio "Waiting to Move."

    Good selection overall, really like the winner. The dolls and the fascists have been doing the circuit for a while. 3/10 portfolios on gangs and killings perhaps a bit lopsided thematically though – there must be more going on in the world than toughs toughing it out in tough places.
