Sigma announces a new BF camera and series I silver lenses for L-mount





Sigma just announced a new BF camera and several new lenses for L-mount, and I am sure many Leica fans will discover several similarities and the minimalist designs of the already discontinued Leica TL models. I can bet Leica had some input on the design. The BF in the camera name stands for “Beautiful foolishness”.

More Leica M12 and Leica M with EVF camera rumors

Here are the latest Leica M12 and Leica M with EVF camera rumors:

  • There will be no Leica M12 this year (2025), and maybe not even next year (unless it comes very late in 2026).
  • The latest Leica M11 firmware update has stabilized the camera, and Leica will continue to sell that model.
  • At least one (most likely more than one) limited edition M11 camera is already planned. Limited editions usually occur at the end of a model’s life cycle.
  • The upcoming Leica with EVF is rumored to be released by the end of 2025. It will be based on the M11-P but with a clean top plate and no ISO dial – see one of the leaked pictures above.
  • The Leica M12 and Leica with EVF are two different models. I already reported that the rumored Leica M camera with EVF doesn’t mean the optical rangefinder is dead:
