Update: Pixii cameras are now available for sale at B&H Photo.

Zeiss just announced a new ZX1 full frame camera with 36MP, 35mm f/2 fixed lens, EVF, 4.3″ screen, aluminum body, integrated Lightroom and 512 GB internal memory (full specifications available here):

The Zenit M now has a new dedicated website at https://zenit.camera, so maybe not a limited edition after all? The moon reference is explained as “We first photographed the reverse side of the moon on October 7, 1959“. Here are the Zenit M camera and Zenitar 35mm f/1.0 lens technical specifications:

The Russian website Ria News reports that the new Zenit M camera could be/is a limited edition with only 500 pieces produced:
“However, this is not a limited edition with new features, but cameras in limited design, exclusive packaging with an individual number.” Circulation of this camera is extremely limited. “Only 500 pieces of Zenitar 1.0 / 35 cameras and lenses available for purchase in Russia and Europe” the source said.
This would make so much more sense. The Ria News article goes even further:

I am genuinely curious here – are you going/planning to buy the new Zenit M digital rangefinder camera that is based on the Leica M 240 and will be priced around 4,000-5,000 Euros with the Zenitar 35mm f/1 lens? Maybe the questions should be: are you even remotely considering to buy the new Zenit M? Anyway, here is the poll:
