The shipping of the Voigtländer VM 12mm f/5.6 Ultra Wide Heliar Aspherical III lens for Leica M mount is being delayed. The new release date is November. US pricing is not yet announced, but the Voigtländer VM 10mm f/5.6 lens is priced at $1,099 and is currently in stock.

Earlier today at 8:30pm (London time), the iconic Leica “Stammbaum” or Leica Family Tree was sold at Christie’s for a hammer price of GBP 300,000 plus the 20% buyer’s premium which equals to a total acquisition price of GBP 360,000 (EUR 425,000 or USD 475,000):
Leica Camera officially announced the Leica M-P Typ 240 Titanium set that includes the Summicron-M 28mm f/2 ASPH and APO-Summicron-M 50mm f/2 ASPH lenses. Shipping will start in mid October 2016. The UK price is £17,500 (incl. VAT), in the US the set will cost $22,900 and pre-orders are already open at Leica Store Miami and Leica Store San Francisco.

Leica will soon announce the new Leica Summilux SL 50mm f/1.4 ASPH lens for the SL mirrorless camera. The price and image quality of the new lens should be comparable to the Leica APO-Summicron-M 50mm f/2 ASPH lens. Stay tuned for additional overage – the first wave of Leica announcements will start this Friday.
Update: filter size of the new 50mm Summilux SL lens will be 82mm, the European price €4,800 (around $5,400).
The new Leica Sofort instant camera that already leaked in the latest issue of LFI magazine is real and will be officially announced on September 15th. There will be also a Leica branded color and black and white instant film (Fuji recently announced it):

New firmware updates are available today for the Leica S-System. Registered owners can log in to the Leica Owners’ Area and download the new firmware version 4.0.0.0 for the Leica S (Typ 007) and 2.5.0 for the Leica S/S-E (Typ 006) medium format cameras, or take their camera to a Leica Store or Leica Customer Care in the UK for a complimentary update service.
