This is the new Leica Summaron-M 28mm f/5.6 lens

I have been reporting for a while about the new Leica Summaron-M 28mm f/5.6 lens and it seems that we are now getting very close to the official announcement – the lens is already listed or sale at an authorized European Leica dealer. The new version will be 2cm long, it will have 6-bit coding and a lens hood. The product number is 11695 and the EU price including VAT will be €2,200 (around $2,400 – the US price will most likely be $1,995).

Update: now available for pre-order at Leica Store Miami and Leica Store San Francisco.

Leica Store/Gallery/Akademie Istanbul

The pictures of the Leica M Ara Güler limited edition set I posted online few days ago were taken in the brand new Leica Store/Gallery/Akademie location in Istanbul that was just opened on October 5th, 2016. The new Leica location is 1100 m² and is arguably the biggest Leica store in the world.

Another limited edition Leica M set to be announced in the next few weeks (update: Ara Güler)

A reader sent me this picture of a new special/limited edition Leica M camera that will probably be announced in the next few weeks. I have no other details for this set. Can someone recognize the logo on the top plate?

Update: the top plate has the signature of Ara Güler – an Armenian-Turkish photojournalist who recently received the Leica Hall of Fame Award. Here is some additional information:
