Here are some close-ups of the Leica M9-P camera Seal was wearing few days ago:
The pictured Leica M camera doesn’t have a rewind crank, battery compartment, film advance lever or a reversing lever. The color and finish is also different from the current M9:
Update: you can see full resolution crops of the new Leica M9-P here.
According to this post from Valentin Sama, Leica Camera will have a new product announcement on June 21st, 2011. Expected is a new Leica M9-P rangefinder camera, a new 21mm ASPH f/3.8 lens and the M8/M9 firmware update. This may not be the complete list of new products and Leica may have “one more thing“.
Few days ago a dpreview forum member mentioned about an upcoming Leica M9-P camera. The camera is expected to be released in June. So far those were all rumors and nobody has really seen such a digital MP rangefinder… until yesterday when the Dailymail posted some pictures of Seal with a very interesting Leica M camera – it looks like a silver Leica MP, but there is not rewind crank, no battery compartment, no film advance lever, no reversing lever… this must be the new digital MP, or the M9-P.
Here is a silver Leica MP image taken from B&H for comparison:
The 2nd edition of the “Leica M: Advanced Photo School” book is now shipping to existing pre-orders from Amazon:
There are many good Fuji X100 reviews online. In this post I will concentrate on the Fuji X100 vs. Leica X1 cameras comparison. Unfortunately, I could not publish this online earlier because I just got my Fuji X100 last week. You can click on most of the images for larger view.
I have already compared the Fuji X100 and Leica X1 specifications in details. In terms of size, the X100 fits better in my hands. It is slightly bigger (and heavier) than the X1 because of the built-in hybrid viewfinder. Both cameras have very similar buttons/dial layout and location, even down to the battery door 🙂 The X100 has also some extra buttons for the various viewfinder options.
