Xiaomi and Leica Camera AG announced a new Xiaomi 17T series of smartphones (in the US, Xiaomi phones are sold on Amazon). Leica views photography as the capture of real moments, making generative AI incompatible with its heritage-driven M-series cameras, but the company believes that generative AI and computational features make perfect sense for smartphones like the new Xiaomi 17T Pro.
