Oberwerth, the Germany-based maker of handcrafted leather camera bags and accessories, has launched its new Cognac Series – a coordinated line of pieces for Leica photographers, united by a single warm, vegetable-tanned leather.

The series began with a request that reached Oberwerth again and again: to bring back the warm cognac tone that once distinguished classic camera accessories. Together with a small, family-run tannery in Tuscany, the company spent half a year refining the recipe in a slow, purely vegetable tanning process. The result is a full-grain cowhide with warm depth and character – a leather that develops a beautiful patina over the years and makes every piece one of a kind.

The Cognac Series comprises four pieces:

  • Louis camera bag – designed for the Leica M11, with room for a 35 or 50 mm plus an additional 75 or 90 mm lens, an adjustable divider, a red velvet lining, and the LOXX® closure system. Lifetime warranty.
  • Leica Q3 Half Case / TagCase® – for the Leica Q3 and Q3 43, with an integrated AirTag® compartment, aluminum reinforcement and access to the SD slot while the case stays mounted.
  • Leica M11 Half Case / TagCase® – for the Leica M11 and M EV1, with an AirTag® compartment and a base-plate flap for quick access to battery, SD card and USB-C.
  • Mosel camera strap – available in S (100 cm) and M (125 cm), with a cut-resistant core, a comfortable neck pad, and a securing ring that fits all common system cameras.

The Mosel strap and both Half Cases carry a 5-year warranty. The Cognac Series is now available on the official Oberwerth website.
