In 2011, Leica has rocked the Italian world of photography with the Leica Talent contest. 42,567 participants have sent more than 120,000 pictures, and the website of the contest has had 3.5 millions unique visitors and 37 millions of page views in 60 days. The new Leica D-Lux 6 ($799) and V-Lux 4 ($899) compact cameras are expected to start shipping in the US next week (around Tuesday). Dale Photo and Digital is currently accepting pre-orders for both models. Some sample images taken with the D-Lux 6 can be found here.
This customized Leica M9 in Ruthenium was created by HRR Manufaktur in Germany. My understanding is that they will be making a limited number of these M9’s. Price and availability is not public yet.
