The first Leica M9-P hammertone limited edition is already out

The Leica M9-P is not officially announced yet but the first limited edition is already out: the Leica M9-P Hammertone Limited Edition was created to celebrate the 5th anniversary of the Leica Ginza store in Tokyo. Only 100 cameras will be produced. The kit includes an Elmarit M F2.8/28mm ASPH lens. Similar to the original M9-P that will be released on June 21, the hammertone limited edition will have a classic Leica writing on top plate, vulcanite cover, sapphire LCD glass and no red Leica logo or M9 marking on the front.

The Leica M9-PHammertone Limited Edition will be available in July, 2011.

New version of the Leica Compendium book coming in August

A new limited edition of the Leica Compendium book by Erwin Puts will be available in August, 2011. The new version will include new pages, additional images and rewritten paragraphs. The previous version is already sold out.

Leica Camera AG with record sales for 2011, intends to pay dividends

Leica Camera AG announced record sales for the fiscal year 2011: EUR 248.9 million (compared to EUR 158.2 million for 2010) – this is an increase of more than 57%. The operating profit is EUR 42.4 million (compared to EUR 7.4 million for 2010). Net income rose to EUR 30.4 million (previous year: EUR 3.2 million). As a result of the positive financial results, Leica Camera plans to pay EUR 0.30 dividends per share (for the first time since 1997).

Leica S2 color profile for ICC based workflow software released

Today Leica announced a color profile 1.0 for the medium format S2 camera which can be used in Capture One Pro or other ICC based workflow software using profiles (Adobe Lightroom and  Camera RAW do not support this profile). The profile can be downloaded from the S2 owners’ section.
