Leica Portrait: John Wright

John has been working with the Leica team in London to help build exposure for the S-System alongside the UK professional photographic community. As part of the collaboration between John and Leica, photographers are able to experience the S-System first-hand through a series of activities including interviews and photographic sessions, exhibitions and workshops at the Leica Store Mayfair ‘Studio S’ and other UK studios. John also uses the camera for a number of high-profile shoots. In our latest Leica Portrait video, John explains what he likes about the S2.

New Leica S adapter for third party lenses

S-V Adapter, P67, M645

After a brief introduction in the November 2010 issue of LFI magazine, today Leica announced three new lens adapters for the S2 camera:

  • S-V adapter for Hasselblad V system
  • S-P67 adapter for Pentax 67 system
  • S-adapter for Mamiya M645-645 system

The adapters are made out of anodized aluminum and chrome-plated brass. They will be available in August, 2011 for € 580.

There are currently several different third party Leica S2 adapters available on eBay.

Leica store in Moscow robbed

Leica Camera Russia reported that the Leica store in Moscow was robbed last night (Google translation):

“Today, July 9 at 3:00 am, two masked men in scrap metal shutters kicked the glass door with a sledgehammer and broke into the shop Leica on Leninsky Prospekt. After breaking all the windows, they stole part of the technique, which was in the store. Thieves coped for fifteen minutes.”
