The longest Leica M9 review
Digitaljournalist.org published what I think is the longest Leica M9 review I’ve seen so far. It includes size comparison with full frame DLSRs, SD cards test results, sample shots at different ISO (compared to Leica M8.2, Nikon D700 and Canon 5D), IR sensitivity comparison and more. The M9’s processor is listed as the only major flaw.
The conclusions (according ot the author David Keenan):
“Well, friends, the M9 is da bomb. Other than a fix for the “major flaw” described above, it is difficult to envision why an M10 is even going to be necessary.”

Leica M9 prototypes up for auction
Westlicht has two Leica M9 prototypes (black and steel gray) up for auction. The cameras are labeled as M8. Starting price is EUR 7,000, expected selling price is EUR 14,000 – 18,000. They also have few Leica MP prototypes.

Leica X1, Leica S2 samples and more
- Dpreview published their sample gallery of Leica X1 images – ISO 1600 looks really good and usable.
- New Leica S2 samples available here (from a live shooting during Leica Profi Day in Switzerland).
- Jason Schneider, who has been covering Leica since the M2 was still in production, has just written a review of the M9 for the Adorama Learning Center.
