Every line from this Q&A session is important, so instead of me rewriting it here just go to the l-camera-forum and read the original post.
The official opening of the Palm Beach Photographic Centre was last Friday. The Leica Store in Store (SIS) located on the premises of PBPC is now also opened for business.
The new Leica store had the M9 and the 0.95 Noctilux on display (you can call them for more info – if you buy from them you will also get a 10% of the purchase price as a credit that can be used for any photography classes):
The above two pictures were taken with a production version of Leica S2 in the new Leica store (yes, each of those photos came from a 75.7MB DNG file). The S2 camera was available at the store during the event for anyone to try out:
As promised earlier, this is the first LR giveaway. The prize:
The first Leica D-Lux 4 book – “Photographer’s Guide to the Leica D-Lux 4: Getting the Most from Leica’s Compact Digital Camera“. Read a few sample pages from the book, view the table of content or check Alexander White’s blog describing the process of publishing this book. The book can also be purchased from Amazon.
The rules of the giveaway are very simple – just write a comment to this post and include your email address (it will be used only to contact you in case you are the winner, no spam here). One entry per person please. A random user will be picked from all entries. This giveaway is NOT limited to US readers only – the book will be shipped anywhere in the world. The giveaway will end on Thursday, November 19th, 2009 at 9:00pm CET and the winner will be announced shortly after. Special thanks to Alexander White for sponsoring this giveaway.
Fine print: The contest is void where prohibited by law. If you are not old enough to be eligible to win a free photography book, go live someplace else. All taxes are the responsibility of the winner. LeicaRumors.com is not responsible for anything.
A l-camera-forum member posted a rumored lists of fixes for the the upcoming D-Lux 4 firmware update. The list is almost identical to the Panasonic LX3 firmware update v2.0 which was suspended shortly after it was released because of ” the reliability of the firmware”. The DL4 firmware update was excepted in late October – maybe it will show up tomorrow on Leica’s website with the new Leica M7 Hermes Limited Edition (web masters like to do multiple changes in one shot instead of continuously updating a website – it is less risky).
The latest rumors from Europe say that the Leica M7 Hermes limited edition will be released/officially announced on Monday, November 16th, 2009. The Europeans sources are always right 😉
