Peak Design’s new Field Bracket is a modular, tool-free L-bracket system designed to fix the usual compromises of traditional fixed L-brackets.
It centers on a camera-specific baseplate precision-machined from recycled aluminum that closely follows the contours of each supported body. A proprietary Field Latch mechanism lets you snap the upright on or off in seconds with no tools, converting a low-profile baseplate into a full L-bracket for quick portrait-mode tripod shooting (the upright can also be repositioned for better cable/tethering clearance). Optional add-ons include a Cheese Plate (with 1/4″-20, 3/8″-16, and cold-shoe points for lights, mics, monitors, etc.), a Hand Strap that integrates directly with the bracket, and a Beacon Finder Tag—the first tracker designed to sit inside an Arca-compatible plate for discreet location tracking.
It preserves access to ports and controls and works with Peak Design Capture, their straps, and most third-party Arca heads. Supported cameras at launch include select Sony (A1 II, A9 III, A7R V, A7 V, A7 IV, etc.), Canon (R5/R6 series), Nikon (Z6 III, Z8, Z7 II, etc.), Fujifilm (X100VI, X-T5), and Leica Q3 models.
The system launches today on Kickstarter (Peak Design’s 17th campaign) with early-bird pricing ahead of the $149.95 MSRP; accessories start at $39.95 and are sold separately so you can configure only what you need.
