Firmware update version 1.6 for the Leica T (Typ 701) mirrorless camera is expected to be announced soon (see picture above). I am not sure what improvements will be introduced. If anyone has any details, you can contact me here. Firmware version 1.55 for Leica T was released in September.
The new firmware update version 1.55 for the Leica T (Typ 701) camera I reported last week is now officially available for download on Leica’s website. The only addition in this release is the full compatibility with the new APO-Macro-Elmarit-TL 60mm/f2.8 ASPH lens.
Pictures of the Leica APO-Macro-Elmarit-TL 60mm f/2.8 ASPH lens have been floating online since October last year. In the next few days Leica Camera is rumored to announce a new firmware update version 1.55 for the Leica T (Typ 701) mirrorless camera that will contain full compatibility and AF performance improvements for the Leica APO Macro Elmarit TL 60mm f/2.8 ASPH lens.
The silver Leica T camera is already listed as discontinued at B&H (refurbished models still available) and is out of stock in many Leica retailers: The black version is currently deeply discounted: $1099 vs. the original price of over $1,600.
